Get Informed about The Grand Youth Performing Arts Programs

ELLSWORTH, ME - The Grand invites all interested parents, students and teachers to an informational meeting on The Grand Youth Performing Arts Programs for 2012-2013 on Wed. May 23rd at 6:30 pm.
The Grand, Ellsworth’s historic 1938 restored art-deco theatre, has endeavored to enrich the lives of people in Downeast and Eastern Maine by presenting diverse, unique, high-quality programs that provide entertaining, artistic, educational and social experiences.  Educational programs for youth include the annual Summer Theatre Camp, the Performing Arts for Children (or “PAC”) program during the school year, and the new Downeast Kids Chorus.  Information on  all of these exciting programs will be presented for the 2012-2013 season at The Grand for all interested families. The presentations on May 23rd will include:

Paul Sullivan
2012 Summer Theatre Camp- Katie Toole & Adam Cousins, Camp directors will be here to give a run down about what each session of camp will entail, including productions for the younger kids (ages 7-11) written by the participating teens (12-17) based on classic children’s stories and Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” performed by the Teen Camp.
Downeast Kids’ Chorus- director Paul Sullivan will discuss both the Fall 2012 session and Spring 2013 session for the chorus which will consist of kids ages 8 to 14.
Performing Arts for Children- Kristie Billings, The Grand’s Arts Education Coordinator, will discuss the exciting upcoming 2012/2013 season of special events!
