Heartwood Serves Up Humor with British Comedy

Heartwood Serves Up Humor with British Comedy
Editor: David Mills

NEWCASTLE, ME - Heartwood Regional Theater Company serves up a late season round of pure FUN with the British farce, “See How They Run” by Philip King.  Abounding with headlong humor, wit, mistaken identities, break-neck plot, and loads of physical comedy, “See How They Run” brims with the comic relief we all need, in the hustle and bustle of busy lives (think Friday night British comedy).  Light, bright, and fun for the entire family, the show opens May 4 in the Parker Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy, Newcastle.

Tight ensemble work, under the direction of Heartwood’s Artistic Director Griff Braley, features a cast of nine in delightful chaos – from police sergeant to Cockney maid, vicar to Russian spy.  Audiences will enjoy live theater at its best in the 150 seat intimacy of the Poe Theater, where a full interior set, light and airy, provides a stunning backdrop for hilarity.

Hilarity hits the stage with Heartwood’s production of the British farce “See How They Run.”  Four members of the nine person cast shown L-R: Bill Vaughan, Hayden Crowell, Steven Shema, and Wayne Barber.
Theater and dinner are perfect complements, and several of the Damariscotta/Newcastle restaurants have partnered with Heartwood this season: the Newcastle Publick House, Damariscotta River Grill, King Eider’s Pub, Rising Tide Community Market, and Salt Bay Café.  Perfect your evening - dine locally and support the Midcoast economy, as these eateries support Midcoast live theater.

Performances will run for two weekends in the Parker Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy.  Evening performances, beginning at 7:30 p.m., will be presented May 4, 5, 11, and 12.  Two 3:00 matinees will be offered on May 6 and 13.  Seating is general, though special arrangements may be made at the time of reservation.  Tickets are $12/students and $18/adults.  Reservations are strongly suggested and may be obtained by phoning Heartwood at 207.563.1373 or emailing boxoffice@heartwoodtheater.org.   For info and video clips, visit www.heartwoodtheater.org.  Produced by special permission with Samuel French, Inc.
