WATERVILLE, Maine – The Thomas College women's lacrosse team was blanked by New England College, 18-0, in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest on Saturday afternoon at Smith Field.
The Pilgrims remained undefeated in conference play at 5-0 while the Terriers fall down to 0-5.
NEC's offense netted ten goals in the first half, including five markers from Tara Bainbridge and four from Alana Scott. The Pilgrims tacked on another eight in the second half on four goals from Bainbridge to finish at 18-0.
Bainbridge ended with nine goals and two assists on 18 shots followed by Scott with six goals and one assist. Ashley McNamara, Katelynn Brewster, and Kaitlyn Berry scored the other three goals for the Pilgrims. Defensively, Berry finished with five caused turnovers and four ground balls.
For the Terriers, Amira Jones (Chicopee, Mass.) caused three turnovers while scooping up five ground balls. Carina Iacozzi (Atkinson, N.H.) picked up five ground balls and Kimberly Banks (Swan's Island, Maine) recorded three shots.
McKenzie Gallasso was given the win in goal for NEC, stopping one shot while Sydni Collier (Oakland, Maine) made 14 saves in the effort for Thomas.
