Agricultural Field Labor Day on May 3 Showcases Career Opportunities

HINCKLEY--Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry (DACF), Maine Department of Labor (MDOL), and Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC), invite the public to celebrate the vitality of Maine's agricultural industry at the first Agricultural Labor Field Day on Thursday, May 3, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Alfond Recreational Center, KVCC Hinckley Campus, 16 Prescott Dr., Hinckley, ME. The event is open to the public and free to attend.

Agricultural Labor Field Day connects students and residents interested in professional and academic agricultural careers with local jobs and/or KVCC's undergraduate programming in a variety of agriculture fields, including Sustainable Agriculture, Culinary Arts, and Business Administration. Workforce training and professional development staff from KVCC and MDOL will be on-site to review resumes and offer job searching advice. Attendees can also take a tour of KVCC's 120-acre farm, which demonstrates organic crop production and sustainable livestock.

**Schedule of Events:**

- 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Doors open to the public. Open-fair format for participants to visit exhibits and for exhibitors to host interviews - 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. - First KVCC Farm Tour leaving the Alfond Rec Center - 12 Noon to 12:30 p.m. - Last KVCC Farm Tour leaving the Alfond Rec Center

**To Exhibit**

There is no cost to exhibit at Agricultural Field Labor Day. Employers and agencies in agricultural and related fields are encouraged to attend and promote their summer jobs, internships, and career opportunities. Pre-registration is required by April 26.
