Bowdoin College Men's Lacrosse Takes Non-Conference Road Win at Montclair

MONTCLAIR, N.J. - The Bowdoin College men's lacrosse team rolled to its eighth straight win in a 16-5 non-conference victory at Montclair (N.J.) State on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 8-2 after allowing just three goals over the final 45 minutes of the game while the Hawks fall to 4-4 this season.

Game Highlights

The teams traded goals in the opening quarter before consecutive goals by Shawn Daly and Daniel Buckman gave Bowdoin a 4-2 lead after one period.
A goal by Montclair's Matt Haemmerle trimmed Bowdoin's lead to 4-3 just ten seconds into the second quarter before the Polar Bears hit their stride.
Bowdoin scored the final five goals of the second quarter, sparked by a pair of Matthew Crowell goals, to take a commanding 9-3 lead at the break.
The Polar Bears continued to roll in the third period as Crowell found the back of the goal again along with Donal Mullane and Jimmy Brady to increase the lead to 12-4.
Bowdoin scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter to cap the victory.

Jimmy Young paced the Polar Bears with six points on two goals and four assists.
Matthew Crowell added four goals while Shawn Daly scored three for Bowdoin.
John Young made six saves, allowing four goals, in 52:39 of play for the Polar Bears, followed by Jack Connor (one save in 7:13) and Matt Cote (1 GA, 0:18).
Sam Carlin was Bowdoin's top faceoff winner, claiming 7-13.
Bowdoin held a 35-31 advantage in shots for the game.
