Deshaies Becomes Husson Women's Lacrosse Career Points Leader in Senior Day Victory over Colby-Sawyer

BANGOR, Maine - Husson University senior Amanda Deshaies recored six points to become the program's all-time leader in career points with 157 in today's 10-8 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win over Colby-Sawyer College at John P. Boucher Field.

Deshaies became the second Eagle to reach the 150-point milestone alongside previous career point record holder Alissa Fallon '16. Deshaies notched her 152nd point 22 minutes into the 1st half to tie Fallon and then became the all-time leader with career assist number 48 with 13:49 remaining in the 1st half.

Prior to the start of the game Husson (4-5, 4-2 NAC) recognized their lone senior, Deshaies for her accomplishments with the Husson University Women's Lacrosse program.

HOW IT HAPPEN:

Chargers' Nicole Lavigne opened the game with a goal less than two minutes into play. The game's next goal came 10 minutes later off the stick of Deshaies. The teams would go back and forth for the remainder of the first half. The Eagles held a two-goal lead with less than four minutes to go thanks to goals by Makenna Mont, Paige Daigle and Cali Newton, but Colby-Sawyer received two scores from Brittany Ireland to send the game into halftime tied at 5-5.

Colby-Sawyer (6-4, 2-2 NAC) took a 7-5 lead with two goals from Lavigne in the first six minutes of the second half. A Newton goal pulled Husson within one, but Lavigne scored again to put the Chargers back in front by a deuce. Unfortunately, that would be the last time Colby-Sawyer would score as Husson tallied four-straight goals with two coming from Daigle and one from Deshaies and Mont in the final 19 minutes to escape with the 10-8 victory.

• Mallory Burchill had eight stops in the win
• Daigle scored three times with two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
• Mont tallied three goals, scooped up two ground balls, caused three tunrovers.
• Deshaies had two goals and two draw contrals and led the team with four helpers, five ground balls and six caused turnovers. With the four assists on the afternoon Deshaies becomes the second Eagle in program history with 50 career assists.
• Newton added two goals.
• Maddy Olsen led the team with four draw controls and added two helpers.

Leaders - Colby-Sawyer

• Kailyn Lapham made 11 saves in the loss
• Lavigne led the team with four goals, an assist, and six draw controls.
• Ireland scored twice and added an assist.
• Sierra Schuster and Grace Vosburgh each scored once.
• Bailey Starr added five draw controls and four ground balls.
• Courtney Lampert picked up a team best five ground balls.

Team Stats

The Eagles outshot the Chargers 28-27 as well as shots on goal 21-16. Chargers won the draw control battle at 14-6 and ground balls at 35-24.
