Grand Audience Votes for Best Short Film

Ellsworth, Maine - Film goers in Ellsworth will unite with audiences in over 300 cities spanning 6 continents to vote on the work of filmmakers from around the world when the “15th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival” returns to the screen at The Grand on Friday, September 28th at 7pm.

Once again, following the slogan “One World- One Week- One Festival”, the MSFF is bringing together over 100,000 people from as far north as St. Petersburg, Russia to as far south as Buenos Aires, Argentina, as far east as Kathmandu, Nepal to as far west as Perth, Australia (not to mention audiences in the Ellsworth, Maine!) to view and vote on the 10 short film finalists from an initial 520 entries received from 49 countries around the world!

These short films will not only entertain a global audience but will be judged by them as well as filmgoers are asked to vote for the one film they feel should win. Votes are tallied and submitted to festival HQ in New York City where the winner will be announced (and posted on the net at www.ManhattanShort.com) on Sunday, October 7th at 10:00pm. This year’s finalists for the “United Nations of Film Festivals” include:

“The Elaborate End of Robert Ebb” (Clement Bolla, FX Goby, Matt Landour) England
“Superman, Spiderman or Batman” (Tudor Glurgiu) Romania
“92 Skybox Alonzo Mourning Rookie Card” (Todd Sklar) USA
“Voice Over” (Martin Rosete) Spain

The Grand is pleased to include the Manhattan Short Film Festival among its other cinema offerings, including The Dark Crystal on October 5 & 6 (as part of the Great Ellsworth Puppet Festival), Sleepwalk With Me on October 10, 11 & 12, and the LGBT Film Festival October 19-21.

Tickets for the Manhattan Short Film Festival on Friday, September 28th are $10, $9 for Seniors & Students and $8 for Grand Members.
