Big Attack Acting Workshop at The Grand Apr. 28th

Big Attack Acting Workshop at The Grand Apr. 28th

ELLSWORTH, ME - The Grand announces an acting workshop taught by The Radio Show’s Robin Jones as part of their ongoing series of Saturday workshops on Saturday, April 28th, at 10am, lasting approximately until 2pm.

In this workshop, participants will get tools to help get past the self-censorship that causes muddy, weak acting choices and, instead, to go for the big, strong attack … an attack where the objectives are clear to anyone- audience, director, or scene partner.

Please note, the admission is $15 per person and the class is limited to 12 people. A prepared monologue is advised, but not necessary.

Robin Jones has over 30 years experience in the performing arts. A director of The New Surry Theatre’s “The Radio Show”, he has also directed some of the top comedic talents of today including Patton Oswalt (“Ratatouille”, “Big Fan”), Zach Galifianakis (“The Hangover”, “Due Date”) and Mary Lynn Rajskub (“24”, “Punch Drunk Love”). He has written, directed and acted in Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles for theatre and sketch shows. In Los Angeles, he also created (and was artistic director for) “Fake Radio” a live stage show that re-enacts old radio shows from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. He is also currently the Film Program Director for The Grand Auditorium

The Grand is excited to be presenting Saturday workshops for the community involving various artistic disciplines. Future workshops include a contemporary chamber music workshop from the quartet Cordis.
