Nature Walk Double-Header at Merryspring‏

Camden/Rockport, Maine - Early birds and night owls are invited to participate in two nature walk programs at Merryspring Nature Center on Saturday, September 29 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Starting at 8 a.m., Merryspring vice president and local birder Glenn Jenks will lead an autumn “Warbler Walk.” Guests are invited to roam the Merryspring grounds to look for warblers passing through the area on their annual fall migration and to listen for early morning bird calls.

At 7:30 p.m., children and families are invited to step into the night on a “Full Moon Walk.”  AmeriCorps environmental educator Brett Willard will guide participants under the full moon to learn about what happens at Merryspring after the sun goes down.  Stargazing with a telescope will be offered.

Pre-registration is required for both events, which are limited to 8 people for the bird walk and 15 for the moon walk. The costs of both events are free for members, with a nominal $5 fee for non-members.  Non-members who have paid for the warbler walk are offered free admission to the full moon walk. Please call Merryspring at 236-2239 or email info@merryspring.org for more information or to register.
