Orono, Maine - University of Maine men's basketball head coach Ted Woodward has announced the team's 2012-13 schedule.
"We have a very challenging schedule that will test our team throughout the entire season," said Woodward. "We are looking forward to getting started with our preseason workouts once the school year begins and preparing for the beginning of the season in November."
The Black Bears will play an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 27 against Laval University from Quebec before opening the season at Dartmouth on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
Maine stays on the road for a game on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Holy Cross at 7 p.m. and plays its regular season home-opener on Saturday, Nov. 17 against Brown at 7 p.m. The Black Bears travel to take on Big East-foe Seton Hall on Wednesday, Nov. 21 with a time to be determined.
Maine returns home for a 2 p.m. contest against Siena on Sunday, Nov. 25 before going to take on Northeastern from the CAA on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. The Black Bears continue on the road to play Atlantic-10 foe Duquesne on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. and return home to play Fisher in the Memorial Gym on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
Maine travels to take on defending Atlantic Coast Conference champion Florida State on Sunday, Dec. 9 with at time to be determined and plays at Army on Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. The Black Bears stay on the road for a contest on Sunday, Dec. 16 against Marist at 2 p.m. before returning home to host Florida Gulf Coast at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22.
Maine finishes its non-conference schedule on Saturday, Dec. 29 at Quinnipiac with the tip-off set for 3 p.m.
Maine opens its America East schedule on Wednesday, Jan. 2 against Boston University and hosts UMBC on Saturday, Jan. 5.
The Black Bears go on a two-game trip at Hartford on Wednesday, Jan. 9 and at Albany on Saturday, Jan. 12 before returning home to host Binghamton on Saturday, Jan. 19 in the Memorial Gym.
Maine hosts the defending America East champion Vermont on Tuesday, Jan. 22 and then travels to Stony Brook for a contest on Saturday, Jan. 26.
The Black Bears host rival New Hampshire on Wednesday, Jan. 30 before going on the road for a pair of games, including at UMBC on Saturday, Feb. 2 and at Boston University on Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Maine hosts Albany on Saturday, Feb. 9 and Hartford on Wednesday, Feb. 13 before going on the road to play at Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 16 and at Vermont on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
Maine plays its final regular season home game on Saturday, Feb. 23 against Stony Brook and finishes the season at New Hampshire on Sunday, March 3.
All home basketball games are played in the Alfond Arena unless otherwise noted.
