Route 196 Resurfacing Project

Lewiston, Maine - Work on the Route 196 Resurfacing project is scheduled to begin Monday June 25, 2012.  The project will begin at the intersection or Westminster Street and Lisbon Street in Lewiston and extend 6.33 miles to just short of North River Road in Lisbon.  Pike Industries is currently planning on completing the majority of the work at night to minimize disruption to the traveling public.  Their proposed schedule is as follows:

Week of June 25th         – Mobilization to the site, erosion control, signage, and layout
Week of July 1st            – Mill existing pavement
Week of July 16th          – Shim and pave roadway
Week of July 23rd          – Striping of roadway and paving side streets and driveways
Week of July 30th          – Demobilization

During night time hours the contractor will be using alternating one way traffic to move traffic around the work zone, the contractor will notify the comm. center prior. to implementing lane closures.  This work is weather dependent and additional information will be provided as the work progresses.
