Camden, Me.-The library will host a talk on PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and its treatment on Thursday evening, June 14, at 6:30 pm. Candace Green, of Cardinal Retreats in Camden, Maine will lead the presentation. Cardinal Retreats is a service organization dedicated to providing education, stress management tools, and relationship counseling for veterans, veteran couples, and military families. Cardinal Retreats helps veterans release their negative experiences of war, re-establish healthy relationships with loved ones, and reintegrate fully into family and community living, through 7-day therapeutic residential retreats and online support.
At the presentation, Green will speak about PTSD and how it affects veterans and their families. She will introduce Complimentary Alternative Modalities that have helped to alleviate some of the symptoms of PTSD. She will then demonstrate these techniques and allow people who attend to participate. Anyone who is interested in alternative modalities, has suffered from a loss or trauma, or who is curious about the free therapeutic retreats is welcome to attend. “If you, or someone you know have experienced loss or trauma, if you are a member of a veteran family that would like to know more, or if you are interested in alternative modalities, this is the talk for you,” says Green. The talk is free and all are welcome.
