Foxcroft Academy's Fern Morrison set a new freshman record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.08 at the PVC Freshman Championship Meet at Cameron Stadium in Bangor on Wednesday, May 30. The previous record (2:26.29) was established by Hampden’s Oriana Farley in 2000. Morrison showed off her versatility by also narrowly besting Hermon’s Megan Howes to win the 100 meter dash.
On the boys’ side, Pete Boyer tied for second in the high jump and finished third in both the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles. Julian Zepeda placed fourth in the 800 meter run, and Zachary Johnson finished fifth in the long jump.
