The Sweetest Sounds...Music of Richard Rodgers and Irving Berlin Opens Apr. 27th
Editor: David Mills

DAMARISCOTTA, ME - At the Lincoln Theater Box Office the other day, a woman purchasing tickets for The Sweetest Sounds...Music of Richard Rodgers and Irving Berlin, asked, “What will happen to my husband if he can’t stop himself from singing along?”  While we had good laughs considering various punishments, we realized it’d be impossible and foolhardy to try to stop him and anyone else recalling such classic songs from the American Song Book, from movies to musicals.  And while a well-placed kick in the shin might help, it may be hard to contain the enthusiasm across an evening that features over 75 different tunes which is bound to entertain old and young alike.

Live on the Lincoln Theater stage in Damariscotta, this latest production from LCCT is sure to keep your toes tapping, your feet dancing and your heart humming. Come join us as we adventure on this musical journey featuring musical favorites from more than six decades.

Conceived and Directed by John Mulcahy, the show features Nancy Durgin and Andrew Fenniman with Mr. Mulcahy on the piano, with guest appearances by John D. Adams, Devin Dukes and Suzanne Rankin.

Sponsored by Schooner Cove Retirement Community, tickets are now on sale at the Lincoln Theater box office (2 Theater Street, 563-3424).  Additional information can be found on the Theater’s website at www.atthelincoln.org.  The show opens Friday April 27 at 7:30PM and plays Friday April 27 and Saturday April 28 at 7:30 PM with a matinee performance at 2 PM on Sunday April 29. The schedule repeats itself the following weekend, May 4-6.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for those 12 and under.  Don't miss out on this musical journey.
