Business Research Workshops at Rockland Public Library Apr. 23rd
Business Research Workshops at Rockland Public Library Apr. 23rd
Editor: David Mills
ROCKLAND, ME - Reference staff at the Rockland Public Library will offer evening workshops on business research tools Monday, April 23 & Monday, April 30, from 6-7 pm. These workshops are for those involved in business & non-profit organizations, as well as job seekers looking for alternative sources of information.
On April 23, the library database Business & Company Resource Center will be featured. It offers a wealth of business intelligence; including company analysis, industry reports, financials, company histories & rankings.
On April 30, the Reference USA database will be demonstrated. Learn how to construct and sort a list of local businesses to find new business opportunities. Reference USA is a subscription database available through the Maine State Library website - learn how to get a free MSL access number at the April 30 workshop.
In-depth business research on the internet can be tricky – authoritative sites like Standard & Poors ask for money, and commercial sites can be questionable. Your library card unlocks free, authoritative, and commercial-free resources not visible to search engines like Google. Easily access these library databases from home or office with your library card number.
These workshop on “hidden” business resources will take place in the Friends’ Community Room in the lower level of Rockland Public Library; 80 Union Street in Rockland. Library laptops will be provided.
