Portland, Maine - Join Portland Ovations and the Oak Street Studios at the Portland Public Library on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM for a free Community Puppet Workshop for kids ages 4 and up.

The workshop is in conjunction with Portland Ovations presentation of Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's performance "Treasured Stories by Erica Carle" on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 11AM at Merrill Auditorium. The performance is part of the Ovations Family Series.

Oak Street Studios, a young people's art institute in Portland, will be leading the workshop. Using Eric Carle's illustrations and Mermaid Theatre's puppets as inspiration, workshop participants will create lively three-dimensional rod puppets to take home.
