FULL HARVEST MOON CELEBRATION ON BEECH HILL

Camden, Maine - Coastal Mountains Land Trust and the Camden Public Library will team up to celebrate the full Harvest Moon and the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend on Saturday, September 29 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Beech Hill Preserve. Land Trust volunteers will open Beech Nut, the historic sod-roofed stone hut on top of Beech Hill preserve, for this special evening open house. Miss Amy, children’s librarian at Camden Public Library, will read star stories in the firelit hut at 7:00pm, and the library’s circulating telescope will be available to view the full moon up close. Be sure to bring a blanket to sit on and a flashlight to help guide your way up and down the ¾ mile hike.

This celebration of fall and the full moon is in conjunction with the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend, a statewide program coordinating outdoor events across the state. With a focus on low cost, introductory-level activities the weekend-long event promotes outdoor activities for all ages and abilities. For more information visit www.greatmaineoutdoorweekend.org.
