Auburn, Maine - Gerald G. Lachance, D.O., a family medicine physician, has been appointed to the Central Maine Medical Center Medical Staff. He is practicing at Minot Avenue Family Medicine in Auburn
A Lewiston native, Lachance returned to Maine recently after practicing in Florida for more than 10 years. Prior to beginning his work in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area, he practiced at Northwest Florida PrimaryCare in Destin, Fla. His work in Florida included nearly three years at Healthpoint Medical Group in Panama City. He also worked for nearly three years with Primecare of Northwest Florida, also in Panama City, where he served as medical director.
A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington, he earned his medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, where he was elected to the Psi Sigma Alpha National Scholastic Osteopathic Honor Society.
He completed residency training at the Central Maine Medical Center Family Medicine Residency in Lewiston.
Following his graduation from residency training, he practiced for three years with the U.S. Air Force 325th Medical Group, which was attached to the 325th Fighter Wing at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla. During his time in the Air Force, Lachance was recognized with a Company Grade Clinical Excellence Award and U.S. Air Force Meritorious Service Medal.
He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
