“Titanic: What Really Happened” Talk by Capt. Charles Weeks

SEARSPORT, ME, May 15, 2013 – Hear the true story behind the myths, mysteries and controversies surrounding the sinking of the RMS Titanic.  Titanic expert Capt. Charles Weeks will speak about that famous ship, what life was like on board, the construction of the vessel, and what really happened on that terrible night in 1912 when 1,502 passengers lost their lives.

Capt. Weeks is retired as Professor Emeritus in Marine Transportation from Maine Maritime Academy and is currently chair of the Maine Pilotage Commission, regulating all marine pilots in Maine waters.   He is one of the authors of Report into the Loss of the SS Titanic: A Centennial Reappraisal, which, “provides fascinating insights into the ship herself, the American and British inquiries, the passengers and crew, the fateful journey and ice warnings received, the damage and sinking, protocol and process of rescue, the circumstances in connection with the SS Californian and SS Mount Temple, and the aftermath and ramifications around the world,” says Amazon.com.
