Route 32 in Bremen to be Closed for 14 Days

Bremen, Maine - A culvert replacement project will necessitate the closure of Route 32 in Bremen for 14 days starting Friday, July 26th.

The project area begins .01 mile north of the Round Pond-Bremen town line and extends northerly for approximately 400 ft. Traffic will be allowed on either side of the work zone.

The signed detour route will guide north or southbound motorists on Route 32 out of New Harbor to Route 130. Motorists going north or southbound out of Round Pond will be detoured to Lower Round Pond Road to Route 130 in Bristol. North or southbound traffic from Bremen will be detoured north to Route 32 to Waldoboro or westerly on Biscay Road to Route 1 in Damariscotta.

As part of MaineDOT's Capital Improvement Program, crews will be replacing the deteriorated and undersized culvert with a large strut.

In addition, funding for the restoration of the fish passage will be shared by NOAA, Gulf of Maine Council, American Rivers, Maine Natural Resource Council and MaineDOT.

This $270,000 project will be performed by Hagar Enterprises of Damariscotta.
