White House Schedule - July 18, 2013

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office.

Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks at the White House to discuss how the Affordable Care Act is holding insurance companies accountable and putting money back into the pockets of over 8.5 million Americans.

In the afternoon, the President will participate in an Ambassador Credentialing Ceremony in the Oval Office. At this event, the President will receive the credentials from foreign Ambassadors recently posted in Washington. The presentation of credentials is a traditional ceremony that marks the formal beginning of an Ambassador’s service in Washington. This event is closed press. The following Ambassadors will attend: His Excellency Georgios Chacalli, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus His Excellency Lukman Abdulraheem Abdulkareem Al Faily, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq Her Excellency Oliver Wonekha, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda His Excellency Ahn Ho Young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Her Excellency Mathilde Mukantabana, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda His Excellency Bakhtiyar Turadjanovich Gulyamov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Her Excellency Liberata Rutageruka Mulamula, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania

At 1:00 PM, the Vice President will deliver remarks on U.S. policy toward the Asia-Pacific region at an event hosted by the Center for American Progress. Following his opening address at the U.S.-China Strategic and Economic Dialogue and on the eve of his trip to India and Singapore, the Vice President will focus on the United States’ enduring commitment to the rebalance toward Asia, India’s growing role in the Asia-Pacific region, and the critical importance of deepening U.S. trade relationships and building constituencies for shared economic values.
