The Mallett Brothers Band has been one of the most widely-acclaimed local bands since its formation. The Downtown Bangor Partnership (DBP) has produced the Fresh Air Market and Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series for eight years. On Thursday evenings through August 1st, free concerts are held in Pickering Square in Downtown Bangor starting at 6pm. The DBP also coordinates an outdoor market on Thursday evenings that is full of artists, farmers, bakers and many other vendors selling Maine made products; the market opens at 5pm and runs until 8pm.
The Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series is presented by Bangor Hydro Electric Company. The Bangor Daily News is the media sponsor for the summer long event.
