The Mallett Brothers Band to Perform at Cool Sounds Concert Series!

Bangor, Maine - The evening of July 18th will feature one of the most popular bands in Maine, The Mallett
Brothers Band! As an alternative country and rock group, the band draws from influences including rock, folk, blues, bluegrass, and more.

The Mallett Brothers Band has been one of the most widely-acclaimed local bands since its formation. They have been featured in such local publications as The Dispatch and The Portland Press Herald, also receiving numerous awards in the 2012 Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll, including Best Local Act. Their acclaim has even grown further, as they have received recognition in The Wire, a British magazine, and have had their music featured on many internet-radio stations. The Downtown Bangor Partnership (DBP) has produced the Fresh Air Market and Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series for eight years. On Thursday evenings through August 1st, free concerts are held in Pickering Square in Downtown Bangor starting at 6pm.  The DBP also coordinates an outdoor market on Thursday evenings that is full of artists, farmers, bakers and many other vendors selling Maine made products; the market opens at 5pm and runs until 8pm.

The Cool Sounds Summer Concert Series is presented by Bangor Hydro Electric Company. The Bangor Daily News is the media sponsor for the summer long event.
