Foxcroft, Maine - The FA boys’ track team accumulated 102 points to finish second out of nine teams at Friday’s meet at Foxcroft Academy. Madison High School won the meet with a total of 152.66 points.
Ryan Wang led the way with wins in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash, a fourth-place finish in the 110 meter hurdles, and a fifth-place finish in the 400 meter dash. Cody Levensalor won the shot put, and Louis Lafache finished second in the shot put, fourth in the discus, and fifth in the javelin. Zach Smith was runner up in the 800 meter run and the 1600 meter run and placed fourth in the 100 meter dash. Garrett Hilton (third in the 1600 meter run, sixth in the 800 meter run) and Corey Bjornson (fifth in the discus) also earned points for the Ponies.
In relay action, Alex Stevens, Garrett Hilton, Tyler Hilton, and Smith were runners up in the 4x400 meter relay, Julian Zepeda, Tyler Hilton, James Birtwistle, and Sebastian Zepeda finished third in the 4x800 meter relay, and Jacob Labree, Stevens, Bjornson, and Dylan Richards placed third in the 4x100 meter relay.
The girls’ team picked up 54 points to place fifth out of nine teams. Freshman Fern Morrison dominated the shorter running events, sweeping the 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, and 800 meter run. Chastity Vainio (runner up in the 100 meter dash), Monica Miles (fourth in the 100 meter dash, fifth in the 400 meter dash), Chelsie Oldfield (third in the 1600 meter run), and Amber Chadrawi (fifth in the long jump) also earned points for the Ponies in individual events. In addition, Miles, Evelyn Henderson, Annie Rich, and Vainio picked up two points with a fifth-place showing in the 4x100 meter relay.
