Rockland, ME - Rockland Strand Theater has a full slate of events planned from March 7th - April 28th, 2012. The Strand Theater is located on Main Street in Rockland, ME next to Key Bank. We want to share those events with you all.
Thursday, March 22 at 7:30pm An Evening with Leo Kottke Kottke has created an entirely new language for the 6 and 12-string guitars while influencing generations of musicians and listeners. Known for his innovative finger-picking style, Kottke’s ability to embrace folk idioms and pop melodies as readily as he assimilates jazz and classical influences makes him unique among guitar virtuosi. Tickets $28/Advance $33/Day of Show – General Admission.
Saturday, March 31 at 2:00pm Ellis Paul Family Show Join us for a fun family show with critically-acclaimed folk singer, songwriter, poet and troubadour Ellis Paul! Playing selections from his Parent’s Choice Silver Award Winning album “The Dragonfly Races” and his brand new release “The Hero In You”. Saturday, April 28 at 8pm An Evening with James Mcmurtry Singer/songwriter/guitarist this Texas native has long been known as an astute, clear-eyed observer and concise, no-holds-barred chronicler of the human condition in his songs. Tickets $20 advance / $24 day-of-show up – General Admission

Thursday, March 29 at Live at 2pm & Rebroadcast at 7:00pm NT Live: She Stoops To Conquer The National Theatre of London presents one of the great, generous-hearted and ingenious comedies of the English language. Goldsmith’s She Stoops to Conquer offers a celebration of chaos, courtship and the dysfunctional family. The play will be broadcast live from London to the Strand.. Thursday, March 15 at 7pm CIFF Selects: If A Tree Falls The Camden International Film Festival will be teaming up with the Strand Theatre to host a monthly screening series taking place on the 3rd Thursday of every month. IF A TREE FALLS: A STORY OF THE EARTH LIBERATION FRONT is the remarkable story of the group's rise and fall, told through the transformation and radicalization of one of its members, Daniel McGowan.
Saturday, March 17 at 5:30pm & Sunday, March 18 at 6pm Le Havre (2011) This film is a warm-hearted portrait of the French harbor city and a political fairy tale that exists somewhere between the reality of contemporary France and the classic cinema of Jean-Pierre Melville and Marcel Carné, Le Havre is a charming, deadpan delight that has been lauded by critic’s and audiences as one of this year’s favorite films.
