Rockland Public Library: Friends' 3rd Annual Adult Spelling Bee April 3rd

Rockland Public Library: Friends' 3rd Annual Adult Spelling Bee April 3rd
Editor: David Mills

Rockland, ME - The auditorium at Oceanside High School East will be abuzz on Tuesday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m. during The Friends of Rockland Public Library's 3rd Annual Adult Spelling Bee.  Linguaphiles, lexicologists and others who enjoy a bit of friendly word-related competition are invited to participate.  Four-person teams can consist of friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, club members, etc.  Four heads are definitely better than one and if a team errs in this spelldown they can buy their way back into the bee for $25 (twice). Best of all, proceeds from the event support programs at the Rockland Public Library.

The 2011 winning team was The Loyal Order of Tenants Harbor Carnivores.  Competition this year should be equally intense for the coveted bee trophies and bragging rights. The Friends invite community members to cheer for their favorite team(s) while enjoying the bee. As an added incentive to join the fun, multitudinous door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

The participation fee for teams is only $50 per four-person team.  Team enrollment is limited so don't "bee" late!  Team registration deadline for the spelling bee is March 26 and will be done via email.  Please contact Nancy Eugley at nweste@earthlink.net, phone 594-7601, or Jeanie Schaden at jamesschaden@yahoo.com to register as a team for the April 3 spelling bee or for more information.
