Rockland Main Street, Inc. is a focused partnership of residents, businesses and local government that enhances and protects the unique sense of place and economic vitality of downtown Rockland, Maine.  this month Rockland Maine Street's "After Hours" was held at The Maine Lighthouse museum/ Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce.
  Before the meeting we had a chance to tour the Maine Lighthouse Museum.  If you have not visited the museum lately, it is a unique treasure and well worth seeing.  They also have a large well stocked museum store, filled with everything lighthouse.
Rockland Main Street is always working on exciting and innovative ways to attract more people to Rockland's Downtown and this spring is no exception.  Here is the line up of upcoming events:
April 19   "Experience This" Auction, with some very interesting items being offered,such as;a day at
                Breakwater Vineyard,  Roadie for a day at The Blues Festival, Tour of Rock City Roasters,
                Maine Lobster Festival is offering 2 lobster dinners, 2 front row seats,  2 back stage passes,
               Lighthouse Ghost Tour at the Owls Head Lighthouse, 1-3 days on a herring boat.
May 31   Mid-Coast Maine's Got Talent returns to the Strand
June 23   Summer Solstice which draws 5000 plus people to Rockland's main street.

Rockland Main Street, Inc is only three years old, but has logged over 5000 volunteer hours giving back to the community of Rockland.  Rockland Main Street is always looking for volunteers especially if you have a professional skill even if you only have a few hours a month you can help your community grow.
