Rockland, ME - The Strand Theatre presents Grammy Award-nominated guitar virtuoso Leo Kottke for an intimate concert on Thursday, March 22 at 7:30pm.
Kottke is a true American original – a dazzling instrumentalist with a unconventional yet expressive baritone voice whose commitment to his craft jump-started a re-appreciation of American acoustic guitar music. In four decades of touring and recording Kottke has created an entirely new language for the 6 and 12-string guitars while influencing generations of musicians and listeners.
Known for his innovative fingerpicking style, Kottke’s ability to embrace folk idioms and pop melodies as readily as he assimilates jazz and classical influences makes him unique among guitar virtuosi.
