Rockland Public Library: World Affairs Slide-Talk With Ben Angulo March 15th
Editor: David Mills

Rockland, ME - There a special World Affairs Slide-Talk by Ben Angulo tonight at the Rockland Public Library on Union Street, Rockland, ME. This great Rockland Public Library event starts at 6:30pm the the Community room.

Join Rockland resident Ben Angulo as he discusses Amazon Pueblo, started at the University of Maine, and how he plans to assist the people of La Libertad, a small indigenous village found in the Colombian Amazon, near the borders of Peru and Brazil.  The village is only 14 years old, and has grown from 50 to over 350 people.  They live in near abject poverty, however, the hardships that they endure are balanced by the profound beauty and incredible biodiversity of the rainforest.

The slide-talk will focus on what can help the villagers to enhance their dignity and quality of life by following sustainable practices with food, water, energy, and economics.

We hope all those in the community will be able to attend, if time allows.
