Business: 19th Annual Penobscot Bay Business Expo March 14

Rockport Maine, "The Mid-Coast Is Open For Business!" This was the 19th Annual Penobscot Bay Business and Community Expo, held at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine on March 14th.
I think their description sums it up best, "This Expo-like the Chamber itself- is all about sharing ideas through local networking, learning about local businesses for local prosperity, and coming together as a community to celebrate the many local resources that we share-right here in the Penobscot Bay region."
As a local business owner I found this to be a great opportunity to meet and network with other business. Truly the Mid-Coast is open for business. There were 112 businesses and organizations represented. Among them there were a lot of new faces with new and exciting new businesses. It is very reassuring to see all the new businesses, a sure sign that the economy is not just alive but growing and thriving. Everyone I spoke with was very upbeat and optimistic.
A new addition this year was a special section for
non-profit organizations to showcase their programs. There were 27 organizations to meet and learn about their services and the passion with which, they pursue them. I do believe that this was my favorite part of the Expo.
All told this was a very well spent afternoon. For more information on doing business in the Mid-Coast area visit the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce web site:
