Bar Harbor, ME - To the residents of Bar Harbor, there will be a town council meeting tonight, March 20th at 7pm. During this town council meeting there will be a public hearing on a Special Amusement Permit for Bar Harbor Hotel, Bluenose Inn.

I. CALL  TO  ORDER – 7:00 p.m.
A. Excused Absence(s)
II. APPROVAL  OF  MINUTES
A. March 6, 2012
III. ADOPTION  OF  AGENDA
IV. FINANCIAL  STATEMENTS – Review and possible adoption of a motion “to accept the financial statements as presented”.
V. CONSENT  AGENDA – A single vote has been scheduled to approve the following routine items of business without discussion, unless individual agenda item action is requested by a Councilor:
A. Tax Acquired Property – Possible passage of a motion “that, in accordance with the Town Council’s Acquired Property Policy, to award the bid for the tax acquired property at Map 267 Lot 014 to the highest bidder, Caresse Hanson of 4 Gray Road, Bar Harbor, and to authorize the Town Manager to sign a quit claim release deed”.
VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
A. Special Amusement Permit: Bar Harbor Hotel ~ Bluenose Inn, 90 Eden Street, for a Class 3ad, three or more musicians with mechanical amplification and dancing, as submitted by Lafayette Bar Harbor Hotel, Inc., Jana May. (Renewal)
VII. REGULAR  BUSINESS:
A. Committee Consultations – Discussion of current projects, future plans and any support needed from Town Council.
1. Parks & Recreation Committee
B. Cruise Ships:
1. Recommendation of the Cruise Ship Committee that the Harbor Master be given discretion to increase the passenger cap for the spring and fall Cruise Seasons by up to 300 passengers on two cruise ship days.
2. Report by the Cruise Ship Committee on the 2011 season.
C. Payments in Lieu of Taxes – Request of Councilor Walsh that Council again explore sending a letter to all of the non-profits in the Town of Bar Harbor with a suggested PILOT amount.
D. Public Comment Period – Request of Councilor Albert that Council reconsider the issue of “Public Comment” as an agenda item.
E. Hancock County Planning Commission – Request of Councilor Disney for appointment as the Town’s representative.
F. Park Use Ordinance – Should we change the ordinance to permit additional major events on the Village Green?
G. Treasurer’s Warrant – Request of Treasurer to authorize paid bills.
VIII. COUNCIL  COMMENTS  AND  SUGGESTIONS  FOR  NEXT  AGENDA
IX. EXECUTIVE  SESSION:
A. Parking Garage – Consideration of the acquisition or disposal of real property or rights therein.  (To be held in executive session as permitted by 1 MRSA 405.6.C, since premature disclosure of this information would prejudice the competitive or bargaining position of the Town.)
B. Town Manager’s Contract – (To be held in executive session as permitted by 1 MRSA 405.6.A for discussion or consideration of a personnel matter.)
X. ADJOURNMENT

The town council meeting will be at the Bar Harbor Municipal Building.
