ROCKLAND, ME - Maine architect John Silverio will present a talk with slides describing his three recently published books. The Book of the Hut is about the history of huts in ancient times, in fairy tales and poetry, as well as children’s drawings, play huts, recreational huts, and hut houses. Hearthspire is about designing wood heated houses with central masonry heaters. Radiance Indwelling is a collection of journal notes and sketches about architecture. He’ll be available for questions and book signing. Books will be availbale for purchase.

Jack Silverio was educated at the Rhode Island School of Design and also studied in Rome Italy and at the University of Pennsylvania. After building a homestead in Lincolnville in 1973 he has worked in a small studio near his house were he has designed hundreds of homes. He was joined in this effort in 2000 by his son Matthew. He also enjoys writing, drawing , painting, sailing and building small craft, playing the mandolin and living life with his wife Susan.
