Musician Spotlight: Rising Singer/Dancer Skylar Dayne

Our newest Musician Spotlight is on a very talented 15 year old Singer/Dancer who was raised in Wisconsin. The Musician we are highlighting today is Skylar Dayne.

Skylar Dayne (Capriles) was born on July 25th 1996 on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao located in the Southernmost part of the Caribbean near the coast of Venezuela next to Aruba. Born under the Sunsign of Leo is fitting, as her energetic, charismatic, and lovely spirit shine as bright as the sun. Her parents come from very different backgrounds. Her father was born and raised in Curacao, and her mother is American, born and raised in Wisconsin.

The diversity and experience of Skylar's upbringing in Curacao along with it's cultural richness have greatly impacted, influenced, and benefitted Skylar as a Human being, an artist, and in her music. She's currently a Freshman in High School and speaks five languages... four of which she speaks fluently: English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamentu, the island's local language along with some French. Now 14 years old, Skylar's love of performing and passion for music began at a very early age. Skylar actually began her career as a dancer. She started ballet at the tender age of four, and began Flamenco lessons at the age of five. She has performed in numerous dance productions and events, where she is adept at various dance styles ranging from: Ballet, Latin dances, Indian dance, Jazz, Flamenco, Hip-Hop and most recently Ballroom where she and her partner swept all off the awards last year in her first year of competition. Singing soon became Skylar's primary focus, along with song writing, which began at the age of ten. To date, she has written over thirty songs. At the age of 12, Skylar participated in the "Miss Radulphus" Pageant held at her High School. Not only did she win the talent portion of the competition by singing an original song, but also surprised everyone by winning the title over her fellow participants who were much older than she. Skylar was the youngest person to ever win the title in the school's history. Less than two years ago, Skylar Dayne picked up the guitar quite easily, and plays some piano as well. She has become quite proficient at guitar in a short amount of time, and often accompanies herself. Ambitious, driven, motivated, attractive, energetic, open-minded, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, are just some of the qualities that comprise Skylar.

She has adapted a vocal, and musical style all her own. Some of her early musical influences include: Nick Jonas, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift, to name just a few. Not to mention, inheriting, and being influenced by her mother who was a professional singer and entertainer. Only 15 months ago, Skylar decided to jump on the YouTube bandwagon, and begin posting her music videos for further exposure. Within the very first month of posting her first videos, Skylar was contacted by a manager who expressed a strong interest in Skylar and her music. Soon thereafter, an audition followed with a well-known and successful producer in New York. Since then, several producers and writers have expressed meeting and working with Skylar in the near future. To date, Sky has over 7.4 million total views, and 24 thousand subscribers on YouTube and climbing, which is quite extraordinary. Due to the exposure she has received and her rising popularity, she has been featured in several publications, and interviews in print and on the net including: the US, Brazil, Curacao, and the Netherlands. Her fan base spans the globe. It's only a matter of time before Skylar's dreams of being "discovered", living, working, and carving out a professional career in show business and singing and performing her music on stages everywhere, become a reality. Skylar Dayne is very grateful for the continuous support, recognition, and encouragement, she receives from her loyal fans around the world which are increasing in numbers every Day!
