Camden/Rockport, Maine - Garden Manager Cindy Gerry will lead a propagation workshop at Merryspring Nature Center on Saturday, January 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
The greenhouse is open! This hands-on workshop will focus on basic and practical propagation techniques for the home gardener and will cover several methods of increasing plant stock through hard and soft wood cuttings, seed saving, division, and layering. All participants will leave with a variety of herbaceous and woody plants. Materials will be provided, however if you have small pruners and gardening knives please bring them with you.
Cindy Gerry has served as Garden Manager of Merryspring Nature Center since 2013 and operates her own independent gardening business.
Guests will meet at the Ross Center of Merryspring before continuing to the Merryspring greenhouse. Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing, All guests who would like to bring plants to propagate or share should contact instructor Cindy Gerry at gardens@merryspring.org prior to the class.
This class is part of the Weekend Workshop series at Merryspring sponsored by The First. The cost of this workshop is $20 with a discounted rate of $15 for members of Merryspring.
