The National Weather Service forecast offices in Gray and Caribou Maine have issued Winter Storm Warnings for all of Maine, with Blizzard Warnings along the coast.
The storm is expected to move into the State late Monday night, and persist through the day on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Snow will be heavy at times, and blizzard conditions are likely in the warned areas, resulting in extremely reduced visibility.
From the National Weather Service:
"A Blizzard Warning means severe weather conditions are expected or occurring. Falling and
blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions...making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel...have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded...stay with your vehicle."
Some coastal flooding is also possible.
All interests should pay close attention to the developing forecasts for this storm.
