Rockland, Maine - The Georges River Land Trust and The Highlands Coffee House, are hosting a MAINE MASTERS ON MONDAYS film series. This exciting series of films celebrate the local artists that have long been inspired by the natural beauty that living in Maine evokes. Films screen at 6:30 PM on the first Monday of each month, January, February and March, with a special finale film featured in April.
Each first Monday two 30-minute films will be presented. The second in the series on February 2, 2015, at 6:30 PM features artists DAHLOV IPCAR and DAVID DRISKELL at The Highlands Coffee House, 189 Main Street in Thomaston. The third set of Maine Masters films in the series will be screened on March 2, and feature ALAN MAGEE and CABOT LYFORD.
On Monday, April 6, 2015, the final movie screening is My Wild Affair. This is the true story of
Andre, a two-day-old wild harbor seal who, in 1961, was rescued from certain death by Harry Goodridge, an arborist from Rockport, Maine. Susan G. Crane, one of the Goodrich daughters, will be present for questions and answers after the film.
The Georges River Land Trust has an understanding that artists have long been inspired by the natural beauty of Maine and hence support local artists through their Artist in Residence program and the Langlais Sculpture Preserve, scheduled to open in 2015.
