“The Banff Mountain Film Festival” Carves a Halfpipe at The Grand!

Ellsworth, Maine - The Grand announces that The Banff Mountain Film Festival (Friday January 30th and Saturday January 31st at 7 pm and Sunday February 1st at 2 pm) is nearly sold-out! Each show is $14 for admission and tickets are available while they last at The Grand as well as Festival Host Cadillac Mountain Sports, with stores in Ellsworth, Bangor, and Bar Harbor.

Launched in 1976 as The Banff Festival of Mountain Films by The Banff Centre, the Banff Mountain Film Festival is in its 36th year and is held every fall in Banff, Alberta. Immediately after the festival in November, a selection of the best films entered in the festival goes on tour. The host organization in each tour location chooses a program that reflects the interests of their community. Each community creates a unique celebration of local adventure and adventurers. The World Tour visits approximately 305 cities annually in 20 countries, reaching over 220,000 audience members.

For the Ellsworth and DownEast Maine community, Cadillac Mountain Sports and The Grand are happy to present a festival split up into three different days of films celebrating the best films on mountain sports and cultures. On Friday January 30th at 7 pm, it’s BMFF’s “Culture” night. Then on Saturday January 31st at 7 pm it’s Banff’s “Extreme Sports” collection of films. Finally on Sunday February 1st at 2 pm, it’s the “Best of The Banff Mountain Film Festival”.
