"We haven't had a winter storm like this in a while." MEMA Director Bruce Fitzgerald said. "Everybody needs to respect the power of this one, and stay safe." The National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings for the entire State, and Blizzard Warnings along the coast Some coastal flooding is also possible.
MaineDOT is recommending essential travel only during the storm, as high winds and heavy snow
will combine for near zero visibility at times.
Fitzgerald said the State Emergency Operations Center would be open throughout the storm to monitor conditions and coordinate any State assistance that might be needed.
