Winter Gateway (York) Farmers’ Market Opening Saturday

Winter Gateway (York) Farmers’ Market Opening Saturday, Nov 23

The Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our 2013 - 2014 Winter Farmers’ Market season beginning on November 23 at the American Legion!

Steph Oeser, the market manager, says, “This is going to be a great fourth season! We’ve got a couple of new farmers signed up, so we’re continuing to expand our produce selection. Based on customer and vendor feedback from last year, we are also extending the market by an hour to end at 1:00pm. The hours will now match our summer market – 9:00am to 1:00pm. Additionally, we lucked out with the way the holidays fall this year, so we’re able to keep to an every other week schedule.”

The market is again sponsored by The Bank of Maine; rediscover true community banking! Local decisions, local people, and a banking partner committed to providing exceptional service. The Bank of Maine understands that it takes much more than products and services to be an influential Maine community member. That is why they have returned over $25 million to their communities through contributions and grants. Visit their website at www.thebankofmaine.com.

The 2013 - 2014 Winter Gateway Farmers’ Market will take place on 10 Saturdays between November and March indoors at The American Legion (next to Hannaford at 9 Hannaford Drive), in York, Maine. The dates are every other Saturday: Nov 23, Dec 7 & 21, Jan 4 & 18, Feb 1 & 15, Mar 1, 15 & 29. The market will run from9:00am - 1:00pm and there will be 25-29 vendors each Saturday. Many of our vendors are back from last winter’s market and several of our regular summer food & craft vendors are also attending. Just like our summer market, this event is always free to attend.

The goal of this market is to support our local farmers, food-producers, artists & artisans, while offering a one-stop shopping experience for customers looking to buy all of their produce, breads, sweets, meats and specialty foods for the week. The select crafters at this market offer locally-made, unique gifts for you or someone special (especially during the holiday season)!
