Third Annual Holiday at Hadlock Set for December 7th

Free Event Includes Santa's Arrival from the North Pole via Helicopter, Carriage Rides, S'Mores, Music, and More
Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs in partnership with 99.9 FM The WOLF will host the third annual Holiday at Hadlock event on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  The Sea Dogs will turn the place of summer memories into a winter wonderland.  The free event, open to the public, will be highlighted by Santa's arrival from the North Pole via Elf One.


Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive at Hadlock Field from the North Pole via Elf One, a helicopter owned and operated by Acadian seaplanes, at 11:00 AM.  Santa is scheduled to land at second base.  Santa will then be available to meet with children until 2:00 PM, free of charge.


"This event continues to grow each year," said Sea Dogs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Geoff Iacuessa.  "We are proud to host a free family holiday event for the community."


New this year will be a petting zoo, where you will be able to pet a real live Reindeer. "Freeway" the Reindeer, one of Santa's special reindeer, will be at Hadlock Field thanks to our friends at Pony X-Press in Waterville.


Other festivities include horse drawn carriage rides around the field, courtesy of Carousel Horse Farm in Casco, Maine, free cookies and hot chocolate, and free build your own S'Mores station.  There will be an arts & crafts room where fans can decorate game used baseballs turning them into unique Christmas tree ornaments.  Face painters and balloon artists from Party Palooga, presented by Five County Credit Union, will also be on hand.


The Sea Dogs' mascot band; The Kastaways will be performing live singing some of your favorite holiday tunes.  Other entertainment acts will also be performing throughout the day.


Additionally, the Sea Dogs will be collecting Toys-for-Tots.  Fans are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to donate.  A truck courtesy of Southern Maine Motors will be parked in front of the ballpark to collect donations.


Additionally, fans will be able to get a head start on their holiday shopping as both the Sea Dogs' Ticket Office and Souvenir Shop will be open to allow fans to give the gift of summer this winter.


The Sea Dogs open the 2014 season on the road in Reading, Pennsylvania on April 3rd.  The home opener is set for Thursday, April 10th at 6:00 PM against the New Britain Rock Cats.  Tickets for the 2014 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com.  Book your nine inning vacation!
