African Drumming workshop‏

Bangor, Maine - The Maine Holistic Center will present “Get into the Groove: Intro to West African Drumming” workshop with Eileen Mielenhausen on Sunday, December 1 from 1:00-3:00 pm.  The Maine Holistic Center is located at 81 Main Street in Bangor, directly across from the Children's Discovery Museum.

This will be a fun and easy hands-on workshop for people of all ages and skill levels.  Bring a hand drum if you have one; some extra drums will be available.

Eileen Mielenhausen, of Blue Hill, has been teaching rhythms and leading drum circles since 1997.  She has studied with numerous djembe drummers, including Edgard Gnidehoue of the Ivory Coast, Abdoullah Sele and Sayon Camara from Guinea, Ubaka Hill, Barbara Gail, and members of Maine's Inanna, Sisters of Rhythm.
