Lewiston, Maine - Michael W. Brown, M.D., a radiation oncologist, has been named to the Central Maine Medical Center Medical Staff. He is practicing at CMMC’s Cynthia A. Rydholm Cancer Treatment Center.
Before joining the greater Lewiston-Auburn medical community, Brown practiced for almost three years with the University of Washington at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, where he served as a clinical assistant professor.
In addition to his years at the University of Washington, his professional experience includes four years at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., where he also served as department chief.
A magna cum laude graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis., Brown earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. While serving on active duty in the United States Army, he completed an internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and completed residency training at the National Capital Consortium Department of Radiation Oncology, a joint program of the National Cancer Institute, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and National Naval Medical Center.
He is certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology.
He has participated in a number of cancer-related research initiatives and has co-authored numerous scholarly articles published in various professional journals.
He and his wife, Kristen, live in Yarmouth with their three children.
