Guest lecturer Richard Cornelia will present an illustrated talk on “The Great Depression” at 7:00 pm, at the Camden Public Library. The talk is part of the 1930s theme for the month.

Giant annual Book Sale under the tents at the Camden Public Library, 9:00 to 6:00.

Camden Walking Tour, 4:00 pm, hosted by the Camden Public Library and the Camden Downtown Business Group. The tour begins at the library, call 236-3440 to register.

Free Monday Night Movie in the Park, 8:15 pm in the Camden Amphitheatre. “Arsenic and Old Lace” (1944, B&W, 118 min.). Presented by the Camden Public Library with support from The First. Bring blankets or chairs for seating.


Tuesday, July 23

Jay Foster presents an illustrated history of the Statue of Liberty and Liberty Island at the Camden Public Library at 7:00 pm. Foster’s grandfather was the superintendant of Liberty Island, and was also the superintendant of the Civilian Conservation Corps that built the Camden Hills State Park in the 1930s.

The Midcoast Brass Quintet returns to the Camden Amphitheatre for a performance as part of the Camden Public Library’s Summer Music Series, 7:00 pm. Free, bring blankets or chairs for seating. Presented with support from The First.

“Who Were the Nearings? Living the Good Life in the 21st Century,” an illustrated lecture by Greg Joly, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Joly is chair of the board of the Good Life Center in Harborside.

Free concert with Cindy Kallet and Grey Larsen at the Camden Amphitheatre, 7:00 pm. Part of the Camden Public Library’s Summer Music Series, presented with support from Allen Insurance & Financial.7:00 pm. Bring blankets or chairs for seating. The concert will be indoors in the case of rain.
