Camden/Rockport, Maine - Merryspring’s Tuesday Talk Series begins with Natural Resources Council of Maine’s (NRCM) Executive Director Lisa Pohlmann who will lead a presentation on environmental issues facing the Maine state legislature in 2015. The talk will take place at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, January 27 at 12:00 noon.
With significant changes brought to the Maine State Legislature and its leadership in the 2014 election, Maine may face new challenges in protecting its air, water, and wildlife in the coming year. Pohlmann will outline the biggest environmental issues headed to the legislature in 2015, and what efforts NRCM is making to support clean energy, weatherization, recycling, conservation, and lake water quality. Guests will be treated to an inside view of what NRCM hopes to accomplish, the challenges ahead, and how to get involved.
Pohlmann joined NRCM in 2000, and has served as its Executive Director since 2011. She earned
her doctorate from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine, and has previously served as Associate Director of Maine Center for Economic Policy and as the Executive Director of New Hope for Women.
The Winter Talk series is co-sponsored by Allen Insurance & Financial, and Farley & Son Landscaping. Tuesday Talks are open to the public for $5, with free admittance for Merryspring members.
