Thursday, January 15

Midcoast Audubon hosts naturalist Mike Shannon’s retrospective, “Looking Back,” 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. “Beauty, wildness, and possibility . . . three good reasons why I became a naturalist!” he says.


Sunday, January 18

Ice Carving Demonstration with master ice carver Tim Pierce, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, in preparation for Winterfest on January 31. Open to all, dress warmly!


Tuesday, January 20

“Tech Tuesday” with staff wizard Olga Zimmerman, 3:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. The topic is “iPad Tips and Tricks.” Bring your iPad, your questions, your answers, and we will share with each other.

Songwriters Session led by John Nicholas and David Dodson, 6:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, all are welcome, $5 donation appreciated. The Songwriters will prepare and perform original songs at the Library Coffeehouse.

Fly Tying workshop with Maine Guide Paul McGurren, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, part of the library’s “Jumpstart January.” Call 236-3440 to register, space is limited to 10. $10 materials fee. If there is enough interest another session will be scheduled.


Thursday, January 22

 “Crime and Punishment in Soviet Agriculture: The Ordeal of Nikolai Vavilov” with nationally-known food writer Nancy Harmon Jenkins, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Part of the Camden Conference’s Community Events Series, open to all.


Saturday, January 24

Simply Books Club, 2:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. Simply bring along whatever book you’re currently reading and share it with the group; all are welcome.


Tuesday, January 27

Hammon Buck presents “Favorite Plants of 1915” as part of the Camden Garden Club’s Winter Horticulture series, 10:00 am at the Camden Public Library. Free and open to all.

Leer y Charlar Spanish Book Club, 1:00 pm at the Camden Public Library. All who are proficient in Spanish are welcome.

“Making Books by Hand” with Amy Hand, 7:00 pm at the Camden Public Library, part of the library’s “Jumpstart January.” $10 materials fee. Call the library at 236-3440 to sign up or with questions.


Thursday, January 29

The Camden Library Coffeehouse features Cindy Kallet and Grey Larsen, 7:00 pm. $8/$7 for seniors & students at the door.
