TEACHER CERTIFICATION COURSES BEGIN IN JANUARY AT UC Rockland

Rockland, Maine - Educators and students at all levels seeking courses toward teacher certification or re-certification can choose from  a growing number of courses offered at University College at Rockland for the Spring 2014 semester, which begins this January. Courses are taught by University of Maine System faculty at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Most of the courses are delivered online. Students without high-speed internet access can participate in the courses at University College’s well-equipped computer lab.  Staff at the center offer support to all students who are new to online learning.

“Each semester we offer a wide variety of education courses online and at our center,” said Deborah Meehan, Director of University College at Rockland.  “We are excited to offer courses and programs in our community that will allow people with busy schedules to become certified as Maine teachers.”

University College also makes available certification programs in Special Education and Elementary Education from the UMS campuses.

Registration for the Spring 2014 semester courses is open and ongoing.  Call the University College at Rockland at 1-800-286-1594 or 596-6906 for more information. To view a complete listing of education courses, please visit:
