UPDATED BREAKING NEWS: Law Enforcement Investigating Bomb Threat In Pickering Square Bangor

UPDATE: Those businesses listed below were reopened around 9pm. No suspect of yet who made the call to 911. Police suspect it was a male voice.

BREAKING NEWS: Police are investigating a suspicious item in Bangor Pickering Square after a caller said it was a bomb.

At 7:10 PM the Bangor Police Department received a 911 call from a subject reporting there was a bomb in Pickering Square.  The caller did not give any additional information and disconnected the call.  Bangor patrol officers responded to the area and located a suspicious item in the park.  The Bangor Police Department Explosives Ordinance Team has been activated and will be responding to the area to investigate the package.

In an attempt to ensure public safety during this incident, the Bangor Police Department has closed down Broad Street and Pickering Square to foot and vehicle traffic.  The following businesses have closed temporarily:  Nocturnem Draft Haus, The New Waverly, and the 4:20 Shop.
