Thomaston, Maine - Tuesday afternoon the Oceanside Girls Varsity soccer team hosted Lincoln Academy in their last regular home game of the season. During the first half Lincoln Academy dominated by scoring two scores against Oceanside. Scorers for Lincoln Academy were #17 and #1 each scoring one point for their team. Lincoln Academy kept Oceanside from scoring in the first half of play. After the coaches fired up the Oceanside Girls during halftime, came out in the second half and scored three points against Lincoln Academy. Three out of Four Oceanside scorers were Emily Gould, Rachel and Makenna Brooks, each scoring one point each in the second half. Final score was 4-2 with Oceanside winning the game Tuesday afternoon.
Oceanside is ranked #5 in the heal point standings allowing them to move on to the Eastern Maine Class B Girls Soccer Prelim Round. The prelim round is slated for Friday, October 19th. Teams, sites and start times to be determined.
In other sports news, please come out to support the Oceanside Girls Varsity Field Hockey team as they take on Nokomis in Newport, Maine at 3:00pm for the Eastern Maine Class B Regional Quarterfinal Game . The Oceanside West 8th Girls will be hosting Camden-Rockport Middle School on their home field in the Busline League Divisional Soccer Final today at 3:30pm. Good luck to all the teams playing today.
