MAINE'S WILD TURKEYS at Rockland Library Thursday November 8‏

Rockland, Maine - On Thursday, November 8 at 6:30 pm, Kelsey Sullivan, Migratory and Upland Game Bird biologist with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries. Sullivan will talk about the expansion of wild turkey populations in Maine at the Rockland Public Library in their community room.

The State actively made attempts to reintroduce turkeys from 1942-88, and turkeys are now found from York to Penobscot Counties. Once reduced to meager numbers, the turkey is now prospering through the combined efforts of wildlife managers and sportsmen. Sullivan will fill you in on the most recent "turkey talk" with information about turkeys, tips on seeing and hearing, human/wildlife interactions, harvest information and comeback of this wild game bird to Maine!
