New Miss Maine Director Announced‏


The Miss Maine Scholarship Program, a non-profit all-volunteer program, is proud to announce that Rebecca Beck of Brunswick will be the Director of the Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen Program.  Rebecca Beck, who held the title Miss Maine 1982, is owner of Studio 48 Performing Arts Center in Brunswick and Studio 48 Dance Studio in Topsham.  She is also founder and President of New England Regional Theater Company, a non-profit youth theater program in Brunswick.  Rebecca received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music and has studied privately at Juilliard with world famous Metropolitan Opera Singer, Eleanor Steber.  She was the first vocalist from Maine to attend Tanglewood in the young vocalist program.  Having soloed with many symphony orchestras, she has also starred in several operas and theater productions along the East Coast.  Rebecca dedicates her time volunteering or developing programs in the community to help children with special needs and directing programs for the gifted and talented.  In her spare time, she enjoys camping with her independent film camp students every summer, cooking, sewing and tending her flower gardens.  Rebecca resides in Brunswick with her two sons, dog and four cats.

The Miss Maine’s Outstanding Teen pageant is a scholarship-based program offering accomplished teens the opportunity to be awarded funds for college. The program promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for Maine's teens.
