Unlike the Download Library, the statewide digital library currently available to the Library’s cardholders, items in the Cloud Library Collection will be selected by the Library’s staff in direct response to the interests of its readers. The eBooks in the collection will only be available to Scarborough Public Library cardholders.
The launch will include an introduction to the Cloud Library and a demonstration of its unique functionality: download an eBook once – read it on multiple device. A list of compatible devices is available on the homepage of the Library’s website.The Library has also purchased five 3M eReaders to loan out.
Library staff will be available throughout the day to help Library patrons get started. Following the launch, the Library will also have “how to” videos and written instructions on their website.
An added bonus! All current and new Scarborough Public Library cardholders who visit the Library October 19 through 21, 2012 can enter to win a FREE eReader! The winner will be notified on Monday, October 22, 2012.
